The Covid-19 Delayed Wedding Present Hunt

In late summer 2021, one of my best friends since elementary school asked me to be his best man in his wedding. I knew I couldn’t get him the normal “wedding” gift of a crock pot, so I put my brain to thinking. Growing up we always hunted small game together, especially dove. After graduating high school, Vinny started getting interested in hunting and trapping coyotes and fox. So, I figured the perfect best man gift I could give him is a coyote hunt!

I went to Google to find a guide. Master Predator Hunting LLC was one of the first results. I started looking through Mike’s website and was liking what I was seeing, and his prices were the average working man’s affordable price. I emailed Mike and we booked our hunt for the second Saturday of February ‘22.

On January 4, 2022, I contracted Covid. I thought it would be a few days of being sick then back to normal. Instead, I was in the hospital for eight days. Upon getting checked by the nurse, I was immediately put on oxygen. My diagnosis was Covid with acute respiratory failure and pneumonia in both lungs. At the time I was 30 years old. After I was discharged, our hunt was right around the corner. I told Vinny I couldn’t go since I was still on oxygen. He understood and I contacted Mike to reschedule. He emailed me and was more worried about my health than me postponing. We moved the hunt a year later to February 11, 2023.

The date arrived and Vinny, Mike and I headed out for our night of adventure. At our first location we weren’t even set up yet and there were two red fox in range. I let the groom shoot. He must of contracted fox fever as he shanked the shot. I kept thinking, wow what a good night. We probably won’t see anything else the rest of the night.

On the very next stand we saw more animals. Honestly, I can’t remember every predator we saw that night, it was a lot. Every spot we hunted we saw a “shootable” animal. Vinny had an opportunity to shoot a coyote. Let’s just say I think he needs some more bench and range time.

Mike not only took the time to explain each step during each hunt, but he answered every question we had and we learned a great deal. I promise you if you book a hunt, you will not be disappointed. He puts everything he has into the hunter being successful. I’m thinking I may be booking a bobcat hunt with him soon. Thanks again, Mike, for a great night! It was a night neither of us will ever forget for the rest of our lives and at a price anyone can afford.

Predator University / Class of 2023

As a new predator hunter, I wanted to learn the proper way to hunt for coyotes, both safely and effectively at night. After looking at the great coyote books Mike has written, I recognized him as a noted authority. Having the opportunity to hunt with such an expert was too good to pass up on.

I booked a thermal coyote with the intention of gaining a better understanding of the proper techniques of hunting coyotes. I was not disappointed! What I didn’t realize was how much there was to learn not just about the tradecraft of hunting coyotes, but on the technical side of the selection and deployment of the appropriate equipment, such as thermal optics, night vision, red lights, as well as the appropriate selection of firearms and ammunition for the task.

Mike is a consummate professional and had carefully listened to specifically what I was looking for on this hunt. When I arrived, I was very pleased to find that he had carefully scouted and planned our hunts around these requirements, giving me diverse hunting experience in several different terrains. The hunting sessions never became boring as we moved from set to set, to four different set locations per night. At each location I observed a multitude of different game, (bobcat, fox, coyote, deer, and others).

The highlight was on night two when Mike called in a big alpha coyote which I spotted and tracked on thermal. While this dog stayed just out of range and just when I thought I may not have a chance to engage one, Mike spotted a second coyote in easy range that I was able to shoot.

From his state-of-the-art equipment to the endless hunting locations that Mike has access to as well as his immense knowledge and experience in predator hunting, his guided hunts are well worth your time, effort, and money. Book a hunt today, you won’t regret it!

Hunting with Mike isn’t like hunting with a guide, it is like going hunting with a very knowledgeable best friend that only wants you to have the best hunt that he can provide for you.

I will soon be 68 years old, and I have hunted from the Northwest Territories, lower Canadian Provinces, to Texas. I have been blessed to take many trophies in my life. Hunting with Mike was one of the most fun and rewarding hunts that I have been on in my life!

I would describe Mike as a guide’s guide. His attention to every specific detail of the hunt is by far, second to none. All the many properties that he has access to, relationships he has with landowners, and the time he puts in scouting to make sure game is there assures a hunter, like myself, that you will accomplish a successful hunting experience.

I would recommend Mike for not only fox hunting, but for coyote and bobcat as well. He goes above and beyond for his clients; much more than any guide I have ever met!

Thank you again Mike, from ‘the old hillbilly’.

Haven’t Missed a Season

My two sons, Todd and Jeff, and I have hunted with Mike for over five years, never missing a season. We have hunted fox, bobcat, raccoon and coyotes. We have been very successful with predators harvested, some missed shots and rarely no shot fired. Every time we have hunted with Mike has been a great learning experience and a very enjoyable adventure.

I now refer to Mike as a friend and we have made many memories together and shared much laughter. Yes, I am already booked for 2024 and cannot wait!

Worth the Trip from Indiana

In my search for a hunting guide, I have weeded through many websites knowing immediately the guide wasn’t for me. I have booked a few hunts that appeared to be what I wanted, but those always seem to fall short to what was portrayed and what I expected. I have also booked a couple hunts that I had a great time, and they at least met my expectations. This one however was way above and beyond anything I could hope for. My hunt with Mike FAR exceeded my expectations and I had better than a great time!

My wife and I have chickens. A red fox started picking them off one by one, but we were unsure how to stop these predators. I had minimal hunting experience and my wife had none. Mike took us under his wing, and in two short days we not only had a great time, but we left there feeling like we are experts! The hunts were exciting, fast paced, and produced numerous shot opportunities. We missed coyotes and some fox, but Mike never gave up on us, and in the end we able to get two red fox and a monster racoon! My advice is to spend a lot of time at the range beforehand to prepare for your hunt and listen to exactly what Mike says about how to shoot. He is an expert of the highest level. Mike truly is more disappointed with a miss than you are if you can believe it. He is passionate about your success!

In all honesty, Mike is the model of a hunting guide that all other guides should be judged against. His website is accurate, he responds to your questions (even when they seem endless). He is an unmatched predator hunting expert, he is organized, and has top notch equipment. He is committed to providing properties that produce multiple shot opportunities. He literally wants you to be successful probably more than you even want. It does not get better than that! He is unmatched in his passion, ability, and success. Mike is a true professional and a rare gem.

First Hunt = Huge Coyote and Beautiful Red Fox

I had been watching the Master Predator Hunting website for a few years and kept thinking that someday I was going to book a hunt. I finally did it! On November 8, 2021, I arrived at Mike’s home. My first impression of Mike was that he was a real “down to earth” type of guy! I was a little nervous going into this, being that I have never hunted predators, let alone hunted at night. Mike was very patient explaining everything about his equipment and how he ran his hunts. He gave me a choice of his rifles to hunt with. I chose the .17 Remington Fireball.

Being my first predator hunt, I chose the premium hunt (seven properties) so I could get the most out of the adventure. I highly recommend this hunt.

One thing for sure, there was never a dull moment. If there were fox in the area, they came in quickly. At the first property we spotted a fox, but it wouldn’t come into range. At the second property, Mike called a red fox into range, but I missed! (Probably nerves). At the fourth set, two fox came in and I scored a nice red fox. At the seventh and final set was where my real excitement began. We were calling for about ten minutes when a nice coyote appeared. Funny, Mike had said to be ready for a possible coyote at this spot. The man knows his stuff! Mike kept the coyotes attention while I got the crosshairs on him. I pulled the trigger, and to my surprise, he dropped immediately. Good shot or Great luck???, it didn’t matter to me, I had a beautiful and very large alpha male coyote on the ground!

To sum it all up, Mike is a true professional! He puts a lot of work into these hunts before and during the hunt. He not only guides, but shares his knowledge with the hunter. Spending a night with him on a guided hunt will take years off your predator hunting learning curve. I will definitely be booking with him again! Thank you very much Mr. Huff!

Late Winter Magic

It was February 2022, and I was itching to harvest an American Red Fox before the close of the 2021-2022 furbearer season. I came across Master Predator Hunting via Google and, surprisingly, Mike had had a last-minute cancellation due to a client contracting Covid and was able to schedule a hunt for the upcoming weekend.

I arrived at Mike’s home in the early evening hours and him and his wife were incredibly warm and welcoming. Mike spent a few moments explaining how the night would go logistically and allowed me to choose the reticle of my liking in his digital night vision IR scope. Before heading out the door, I realized that I had forgotten my jacket at home. However, Mike was incredibly hospitable and loaned me one of his spare coats and we climbed into his truck to begin the night.

I had read from other reviews that Mike was incredibly erudite and that his knowledge of predator hunting was unmatched. Throughout the night, those attributions proved to be demonstrably true. His keen understanding of predators was on full display, and I ended up harvesting a beautiful red fox in the wee hours of the morning during an unexpected and beautiful Pennsylvania snowstorm.

Hunting with Mike was an exhilarating experience that will be forever seared in my memory. He is singlehandedly one of the wisest predator hunters out there and you would be judicious to consider him as your guide for your next hunt. Trust me – you won’t regret it!

Honest and Likeable Guide

In a word my 2020 three-day fox hunt with you was, “outstanding!” It greatly exceeded my expectations.

In the last few years I have been on many guided predator hunts. The quality of the guides, equipment, hunting land, promises, etc. have been disappointing. Being a Florida/Kentucky resident and having never met you, the only surprises that I had on your hunt is everything you told me was absolutely true!

Flying in and out of (ABE) Lehigh Valley International Airport was a pleasure and I appreciated you picking me up when I arrived and dropping me off after the hunt.

You suggested a three-day hunt and that was perfect. We managed to harvest a fox each night.

The equipment you provide is first rate. You suggested I consider using your rifle and tripod. I thought, oh boy, I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that. What I know now is I would not have been as successful with my equipment and it sure was pleasant not having to bring a rifle.

You promised me you had plenty of good hunting land and you did. Plenty of land and lightly hunted if it had been hunted at all. Mike, in my mind you are the consummate professional guide. You know predators! Your setups were great. No wasted time wondering where to go. Every hunt worked like clockwork. Finally, and probably most important to me is that I like you as a person and really enjoyed your company.

Thank you!

Father and Son Lifetime Memory

I would like to personally thank you on behalf of myself and my father for an unbelievable red fox hunt! Coming to you as a New Jersey predator hunter, you significantly exceeded my expectations with the amount of fox we saw during our hunt! After some misses we were both able to harvest a pair of beautiful red foxes, our first ever, all because of your help!

I will relive the great memory of our hunt with my beautiful taxidermy display for years to come! Thank you for a hunt I will always remember! We will definitely be returning in the very near future for a coyote hunt.

Multiple Fox & Coyotes

After reading his book, “Understanding Coyotes”, visiting the MPH LLC website, and then speaking with Mike Huff on the phone, I decided to book a predator hunt with the goal of harvesting a mature red fox. I’m glad I did. Mike is a down to earth guy who is extremely knowledgeable and who works hard to help his clients succeed. During our hunt I missed one fox but was able bag two others, one of which was the perfect specimen I was seeking for a mount. We saw several other foxes that did not present good shot opportunities as well as three coyotes that stayed out of range. Mike provides the proper firearms and equipment necessary to ensure his clients the best chance for success and the properties to which he has access are excellent. I plan to book a coyote hunt with MPH-LLC in the future and based on my experience, highly recommend Mike as a predator hunting guide.

Kitten Cries and Mouth Calls

Author of two books on predator behavior, Michael Huff offers much as guide. Educated in firearms, animal behavior, and local rhythms, he WILL call fox in to you! His techniques culminated in me harvesting three fox in two nights of hunting and many shot opportunities. He has a unique expertise in matching the electronic prey call to the prey particular to the set we hunted, in this case, a wounded kitten call. Another success was a spontaneous spotting. On the way back to the vehicle, he spotted a fox. Immediately, Mike deployed the rifle, painted it with his predator light, and mouth called in the fox, a beautiful white tipped tail red fox. If you want to hunt, successfully, contact MPH-LLC and hunt with the best.

Coyotes, Bobcat, and Fox: Predators Galore – Amazing Hunt

Watch all the YouTube videos you want, you’ll never figure out how to hunt coyotes in PA. When I found Mike Huff, he made me realize the difference between hiring a guide to hunt coyotes, and hiring a rare expert to learn how to hunt coyotes. I hadn’t thought about what I wanted (I only knew I wanted to be successful in the field) from that perspective – so, I decided to sign up for Mike’s Premium Hunt package which included indoor instruction, along with time at the range, and an evening hunt.

As a primer, I decided to read Mike’s book, “Understanding Coyotes: The Comprehensive Guide for Hunters, Photographers, and Wildlife Observers.” I’m glad I did – it was great preparation for the instruction and really got me thinking more in sync with Mike. The instruction was great – but the most interesting part for me was the range time. I’m an experienced shooter, and figured going to the range was just, “going through the motions”. Part of Mike’s range time was dedicated to different shooting positions, shooting off a tripod, off of shooting sticks, sitting, kneeling, etc. Turns out, I can use some work in some of those positions… and thanks to Mike, I will be taking some time at my own range to improve my shooting in various positions – not just from the bench. Talk about thorough!! Mike’s shooting instruction and practice is for real life field shooting, not shooting off a bench which has little benefit to actual hunting.

The evening of our hunt was really fun, I felt at ease because Mike explained everything in such great detail, and the instruction set my expectations. On our first set Mike called in a Coyote!! We were lucky enough to get a good shot – and we were successful! After that, we made another set and AGAIN another coyote came in – but it did not present a shot opportunity. A third set revealed a bobcat, and a raccoon. What a great night!!

I will definitely be back again for another hunt. Even though I’m confident to hunt coyote on my own now, I would still like to access Mike’s resources regarding land (he has a ton of outstanding farms to hunt) and local knowledge.

Mike is simply the most proficient guide I’ve ever hunted with – and I have hunted with many throughout the United States including Alaska… I’m glad we met. I will be confidently recommending him to all of my hunting friends.

Best Red Fox Hunting in the United States

Thank you for a great two-night hunt on Friday and Saturday night!

Friday night, having 12 red fox called in with only seven set-ups was phenomenal, not to mention having four shots! The two fox I harvested were absolutely beautiful and will make great mounts.

Due to a very strong and cold wind, Saturday gave us tough hunting conditions, but we had coyotes enthusiastically responding on two sets and a prime red fox offered me a shot that I simply could not pass up. Three fox harvested in two nights hunting is better than I have ever done!

The preparation that you do, the large number of exclusive properties you maintain, and your custom shooting tripod are testament to your commitment to hunter success. There is no better red fox hunt in the United States.

Big & Beautiful Bobcat

Last year in February of 2016, at the New Jersey Garden State Outdoor Sports Show, I attended Mike’s coyote hunting seminar, purchased his book, and had the opportunity to speak with him. It was immediately very apparent to me he was an expert and has mastered predator hunting/guiding at the highest level. He was refreshingly very humble and honest.

This year I booked several hunts with MPH-LLC guide service and I harvested red fox and grey fox. Tonight, I got my bobcat, called in and killed the purest and most challenging way of taking a bobcat. It was a true trophy that will forever be a lifelong memory for me!

Mike’s properties and techniques have brought in so many predators I tell him he makes it look too easy. He is the real deal, scouting properties year-round over a wide geographic region and guiding clients to the locations where predators are currently active. Next up on my predator bucket list is a coyote. I will be investing in his guided hunts for many years to come!

Canine Combo – Father and Son Get It Done!

Our father/son night-time predator hunt with Mike Huff was nothing short of a complete success! Despite weather conditions that were less than optimal, Mike put his amazing talents and experience right to work for us.

My son, Alex, was the designated shooter on the first set and this was his first-ever predator hunt. The first set had a red fox running straight at the call from 200-plus yards away within the first minute. Alex’s inexperience cost him on that shooting opportunity. But by the fifth set he had learned his lessons and he was fortunate enough to harvest his first fox.

My turn on the gun came on the sixth and final set and after about 25 minutes of calling Mike had worked enough of his magic to put a mature, fully prime, 35-pound, beautiful female coyote broadside on the trot at 100 yards. My lifelong dream of my first coyote capped off what was an absolutely, amazing hunt!

From Mike’s thorough instruction prior to our hunt to his outstanding skills in the field, along with answering my 1,000 insufferable questions all night, a hunt with Mike is about as good a way to spend the evening as anything I can think of. Great time and can’t wait to make it happen again.

Summer Coyote Double with MPH-LLC

Hunted once again with Mike Huff for a mid-summer shot at coyote. As usual, Mike had our hunt itinerary laid out for the evening and had freshly scouted properties for current coyote activity. I was able to get up there a little early with time to kill so we hunted woodchuck for a couple of hours. I bagged two woodchucks, making personal history by hunting with an AR 15 in the state of Pennsylvania! I made two shots and put two woodchucks down.

As sunset fell, we started out for coyote and it was a bit slow for most of the night. After numerous sets we were going to call it quits and Mike asked me if I had enough energy for one more, and of course I did. On our last set for the night I shot my first and only double, two Eastern coyotes on the same set in Pennsylvania. Pretty rare and pretty awesome, only with MPH-LLC.

If it wasn’t for Mike’s relentless determination to push me for one more set and getting me in the right position to beat the wind, I probably would’ve went home with just two woodchucks! Thanks to Mike, I made personal history on two species!

The Best Guide for Predators

Michael Huff has guided me on six hunts to date. It has proven to be a great investment and never have I been disappointed. He has a great disposition and a true willingness to teach you to become an effective predator hunter. He is not about getting the hunt over and paid. Michael has an amazing amount of properties that always have that fresh feeling by the amount of predators you see. You can never guarantee a hunt but we were rewarded with a bonus coyote on our last hunt (going after fox). I would highly recommend an MPH guided predator hunt. There is no better guide. He is a gift to anyone wanting to learn and successfully harvest coyote, fox, and bobcat!

Five Star Guide Service

Mike has an extreme knowledge of understanding and hunting predators. I attended his predator hunting seminar at a sportsman’s show. It was beautifully put to gather and began with explaining that you need to understand the biology of the animal you’re hunting. After discussing coyote biology, the talk transitioned to hunting. The only down fall about the seminar was the lack of the amount of time at only 1.5 hours as not a word was wasted and I could have listened and learned for ten hours to Mike’s talk.

I purchased the book, “Understanding Coyotes,” on Amazon.com and it is great! The highest rated coyote hunting book on the planet. There is so much information in the book and the part that makes it so great is that you have the statics and proof from research studies to back everything you say in the book. It is not personal opinion or fluff from an armchair expert. It and you are the real deal.

I felt that I would greatly benefit from Mike’s one on one full day individual predator hunting seminar followed by a hunt. Mike is not only extremely knowledgeable of predators but his knowledge of everything is unreal. He raised my confidence in shooting by taking me to the range and shooting off several different field shooting supports. I quickly learned that my current (now replaced) equipment just would have never got the job done.

Once my hunt started out I was blown away at how differently I was hunting from what I had been doing on my own. Mike got a fox to show up just on the edge of the farm but it would not take two steps onto his property, so I was unable to shoot but I got so excited. The very next set connected on a pair of raccoon and then a red fox on the next.

Mike clearly goes out of his way to make sure his clients are well guided. His service is absolutely top notch. I will definitely be coming back in the fall for another hunt. I had such a blast. I highly recommend Mike to everyone interested in predator hunting. I am telling all of my hunting family and friends about Mike as he is an absolutely gem for anyone interested in predator hunting. Absolutely very well worth every dollar invested… Five Star Service!

Archery Hunter to Predator Hunter

Being a successful long-time traditional bow hunter for over 35 years, I was looking for an additional challenging activity to keep my hunting and shooting senses sharp after deer and bear season ended. As a newcomer to predator hunting, I was a bit confused, especially after watching many You-Tube videos on the internet. I wanted to quickly accelerate my predator hunting knowledge and skills without educating every fox and coyote in my hunting area due to my inexperience.

I noticed that Mike Huff, owner of Master Predator Hunting, was scheduled to give a predator hunting seminar at the upcoming Early Bird Sportsman Expo in Bloomsburg, Pa. I determined Mike had the knowledge and experience to get me up to speed very quickly. When I spoke to Mike, he was very friendly and cordial. He explained he would provide all the required predator hunting calling equipment, guns and gear. I was also more than welcome to bring my own firearms.

Prior to my hunt, Mike checked to make sure I had my hunting license and required furbearer tag for fox. He provided a short overview and briefing regarding safety and hunting techniques that would be using during my night hunt. We drove to the first set, trudged uphill through a field in two-foot deep snow to see if I was in shape, (only kidding Mike), setup, and Mike started calling and scanning. He worked the call and scanning light as a pro. Within 20 minutes, glowing red eyes were spotted at around 125 yards. Mike identified it as a red fox but held off my shot since its location on the skyline did not present a safe shot.

Another five minutes went by and we spotted red eyes again. The fox was working along the edge of a brush row. Mike was able to call and stop the fox. After quickly finding it in my crosshairs, I fired my 7mm and the fox disappeared!! Unfortunately, my shot didn’t hit its mark!! I thought to myself that I need to get back to the shooting range for more practice!

We drove a few miles to the next stand. Mike informed me this stand would be a close quarter setup that would be perfect for my scattergun! We setup and waited in silence for about five minutes. Mike performed his magic with the call, blaring out a varied series of prey distress sounds. After 15 minutes, Mike spotted red eyes bouncing down the hill about 125 yards away heading toward the call. Mike tapped me on the shoulder to notify me and told me to get ready!

The red glowing eyes disappeared for several seconds behind some trees but reappeared in an instant at approximately 80 yards. Mike identified it as a red fox which was quickly running in and closing the distance toward the call. Mike stopped the fox at 50 yards with a squeak. I lined up my Tru-Glo green dot and pulled the trigger. The Mossberg roared and let the #4 buck loose to do its job. The fox dropped like a rock. I retrieved my trophy – a beautiful red fox. Mike snapped a few professional quality photos and congratulated me on making such a great shot!

Predator hunting certainly is an exciting challenge. It is often very difficult to quickly line up the shot and judge distances – especially while hunting at night! I discovered that hunting predators is a unique experience that can quickly become additive! I found my hunting experience with Mike Huff to be a very rewarding and memorable learning experience. Thanks again to Mike for sharing his years of knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend other hunters contact Mike if they want to learn and enjoy the unique and exciting challenge of predator hunting! Take the challenge – you too may become addicted!

New Hunter Success

I had an opportunity to take one of Mike’s guided hunts this past Thursday and I had an absolutely amazing time! Mike is a fantastic guy to be around and absolutely the best predator hunting guide you will ever find. Not only is he a nice guy but he definitely knows what he is talking about when it comes to predator hunting.

I am pretty sure we saw at least one fox on every set and when the night was done, I had learned so much. I bagged two beautiful red fox with my rifle but missed with the shotgun. It was all good, I wouldn’t have ever got that far without Mike!

I absolutely recommend taking a guided hunt with Mike if you are looking into doing some predator hunting in the future. I know I will surely be back for a round two!

Overcoming a Rifle Issue

Conditions on the day of my hunt changed from the forecasted clear night into patchy fog and mist. Despite this huge obstacle, Mike was able to call in two coyotes on the first set of my hunt. That’s what I call a great way to start a night of predator hunting.

Before telling the story of my hunt, I want to share that Mike has a planned out itinerary of the properties you will be hunting, which are absolutely beautiful for predators. Back to our first set. We stepped out of the vehicle, walked about 200 yards, and got set up. Mike’s calling sequences on his electronic caller was flawless. Five minutes into the calling, we spotted two sets of glowing red eyes coming into our calls. It was a pair of coyotes, both coming in from a different direction, trying to get downwind. Mike switched to his custom mouth calls, which outperformed the electronic caller, stopping the coyotes for a perfect broadside shot. With the OK from Mike, I decided to take the 200 yard shot. I missed my mark.

Our second set was even better than the first! Two minutes into calling, a beautiful red fox came bounding in to the calls. I was not able to get on the charging fox in enough time to shoot. No problem, another minute of Mike’s hand calling brought a second fox busting out of a thicket to our left. Mike stopped the fox in a hay field at 100 yards, providing me with a good shooting opportunity. I missed the fox and it ran but Mike was able to stop it two more times for two more shots. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful harvesting the fox.

Mike and I began to question the accuracy of my gun and Mike suggested I shoot it at a target. He was right, my three shot group was off by four inches left and two inches high at only 50 yards! Luckily for me, I hired the right guide. Although I opted to use my gun on the hunt, Mike came prepared and packed his .17 Rem. Fireball and ammo as a backup option. I fired the rifle once and confirmed it was zeroed.

We were back in the game and onto our next set which Mike mentioned was a farm that always has fox. Walking in to make a set, we noticed a fox was working a tree line. We set up and Mike began calling on the electronic caller. Approximately fifteen minutes into the set, Mike switched over to his custom hand call and a minute later he tapped me on the shoulder and pointed out a fox that was running across the wide open hayfield into his calling. As I pulled the trigger and heard the crack of the rifle, I saw fox drop instantly without taking another step.

A hunting trip with Mike Huff is a great learning experience and a great adventure. I decided to get my fox mounted as a lifelong reminder of the wonderful time and great memory I shared with Mike on this hunt. I am concluding my testimonial with a huge thank you to Mike Huff. I am already counting down the days as I look forward to our next hunting adventure.

Shrunk My Learning Curve

I’m a resident of New Jersey and I have a hunting camp in Potter County, Pennsylvania. I recently took up predator hunting and have experienced moderate success calling for friends, but thought I needed a little help overall.

A few weeks ago I came across Mike’s website and saw that he offered guided predator hunts in PA, so I decided to book one. From the minute we met I knew I made the right call. Mike is not only an experienced hunter but very professional too. He had our nights full itinerary in the vehicle, all the right equipment as well as the appropriate firearms depending if the target was fox or coyote.

If you’re like me and want to use your own rifle – no problem just bring it along! We had great success calling in fox and coyote and I did drop a fox. I had a shot opportunity on a coyote but waited just a little too long. Mike is really cool to hunt with so I booked a second hunt with even better shot opportunities at coyote.
Aside from a two great hunting experiences, I came away with a lot more knowledge of all aspects of predator hunting. My “learning curve” has been shortened substantially by Mike’s instruction. I certainly plan on hunting with Mike again in the future!

Double Canines

This year I was given the opportunity to go on a guided hunt with masterpredatorhunting.com’s Michael Huff. I told Michael on my arrival that I wanted to harvest a fox since I had yet to even see one let alone take one. On our very first stand, Michael began to call with his Fox Assassin call and within a minute a fox was making his way to us. I, being excited about already having one charging in at us, shot and missed. I was disappointed but Michael assured me of another opportunity. He wasn’t lying. On the very next stand within minutes he again called another fox in. Unfortunately, this one didn’t cooperate and a shot opportunity never presented itself.

We drove to the next stand with high hopes. As we walked in, we looked up and right there at about 100 yards stood yet another fox. It obviously knew we were present and ran. Michael started calling, then from the other direction came in a coyote! I was able to connect and harvested my second ever coyote. I was excited about the coyote, but Michael knew I had wanted a fox.

We did one final stand. As soon as we set up a fox showed up. A couple quick squeaks on the call and it came running. Finally, I was able to harvest my first red fox. During this hunt Michael also used his mouth call. I said it then and I will say it now; that call sounded better and produced better responses than the electronic caller we also used.

If you or someone you know is curious or avid about predator hunting, I highly suggest a guided hunt with Michael Huff. He is an authority on predator hunting and he is very good at what he does.

Persistence Pays Off

I’ve been a hunter all my life but had never gone predator hunting and was looking for someone to introduce me to it. Luckily, I met Mike Huff at a seminar he was teaching at Cabela’s. His down to earth, friendly demeanor told me right away that this was the guy I was looking for. The many times I hunted with Mike he was very organized and had the whole night’s hunt planned and mapped out. I was able to learn a lot in a short time and had a great time while doing it. After missing a few foxes on the first couple of hunts, what I learned from Mike enabled me to get three nice reds on the same cold February winter night. Thanks Mike. I will be back!
